Although it’s not an official highly promoted holiday sale like Black Friday, December 26th marks the kickoff of an unofficial “Black Friday 2,” or “Second Black Friday” in the United States. Arguably, the entire week following Christmas is a bargain hunter’s dream as stores deeply discount merchandise for quick sales at year end. Walmart is certainly no exception.

Where are Walmart’s after Christmas Sales Items Listed?

How do shoppers find out about Walmart’s 2008 after Christmas sales items? Unlike the actual Black Friday, ad scans don’t appear to be available for preview, and there doesn’t seem to be a particular online forum for discussing after Christmas sales. The simplest way to learn about Walmart’s holiday promotions is to visit the company website where both in store and online deals are posted.

On the Walmart.com homepage, very simply displayed is a small icon leading customers to the clearance section where “every day low prices just got lower.” Shoppers who click on the “clearance items” link will be taken to a landing page with featured clearance categories. On the left side of the screen should be a text link to “all clearance items.” Click on that link to access the entire clearance section sorted by product category. The good news for those who prefer to shop in person is that most items listed online appear to be available in store as well. Out of 4,401 total items listed late Christmas night, 3,983 of them are marked available “in-stores” (albeit, some items are only available in a limited number of store locations).

What Kinds of Deals are Available at Walmart this Time of Year?

The individual items (over 4,000) are too numerous to list, but here are the main categories with clearance items:

Hot items in the days immediately following Christmas will be in the Christmas decorations category. If past markdowns are any indication, shoppers should expect to see deeply discounted ornaments, lights, Christmas trees, garland, wrapping paper, and gift bags.
