Michelina's Budget Gourmet Lasagna Alfredo with Broccoli is cheap and easy to make. But you have to add your own ingredients to make it taste better. Best coupons/deals.

Michelina’s Budget Gourmet frozen dinner may be fast and convenient, but is it worth the price? Even though that price is around $1. This "chef inspired recipe" isn’t exactly inspirational. It might do for a quick lunch-on-the-go, but if it’s a dinner you’re after, you’ll definitely need to add some of your own ingredients.

Price:

$1 (on sale) for 8 ounces (one serving)

How to Prepare Michelina’s Budget Gourmet Lasagna Alfredo with Broccoli:

The package gives you a microwave oven and conventional oven instructions. Combine the two for better results!

  1. Lift corner of lid to vent.
  2. Microwave on high for one minute.
  3. Open lid and stir pasta.
  4. Cook on high for 45 seconds.
  5. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  6. Carefully remove food from the container and place in an oven-safe dish.
  7. Cover and bake for 12 minutes.

Taste:

Bland is the word to describe this dish. It is creamy and cheesy, but lacks that kick that would make it a really good dinner. There are plenty of noodles and the sauce is pretty thick and smooth. But with only a few pieces of broccoli in the entire dish, it shouldn’t even be called "lasagna alfredo with broccoli." See below for ways to spice it up and add more vegetables. Economical? Yes. Tasty? Only if you add a few of you’re own ingredients.

  • Sprinkle garlic powder over pasta to taste.
  • Add Parmesan cheese if you like your pasta a little richer and cheesier (this will add calories!)
  • Serve with an Italian salad and garlic bread (you can buy pre-made garlic bread at the grocery store that all you have to do is heat.)
