How to Prepare Marie Callender's Turkey Breast with Stuffing (also includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and cranberries.)

The directions on the box give you a microwave and an oven version. The oven version takes 32 to 37 minutes. Instead, you can microwave on high for seven to eight minutes, but your meat won't be as browned. Try combining the two by slitting the film cover only over the vegetables and cooking on the highest microwave settting for three minutes. Then place the tray on a cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes in a pre-heated oven to 350 degrees.

Taste

The turkey is surprisingly moist. The green beans are not over-cooked and those cranberries mixed in with the beans are a nice touch. This dish could use a few more berries though. The picture on the front of the box shows whipped up mashed potatoes covered in a rich-looking gravy. That's not exactly the case when you take the dinner out of your oven. You'll need to whip up the potatoes with a fork and transfer some of the gravy from the meat over to the potatoes. Otherwise, the potatoes would be bare. The stuffing is remarkably good. It adds a nice texture to the meal.

How to Make Marie Callender's Turkey Breast with Stuffing Taste More Like Home-Made

If you like a little more gravy on your turkey and mashed potatoes, simply buy a boxed dressing from the store and follow the directions on the packet. Pour the sauce into a gravy boat, and add as much as you need. Also, adding some canned cranberry relish will give this turkey dinner some more color and extra nutrients. Cranberries are loaded with antioxidants.

Deals and Coupons

The best way to save on Marie Callender's frozen dinners is to check your local grocery stores' sales flyers weekly, either online or at the supermarket. Sometimes they'll run specials if you buy five or more dinners. But most of the time, you'll get the sale price without having to buy in quantity. Also, do an online search for manufacturer's coupons before you head to the store.

At $3.89 per serving, this is a pretty inexpensive meal. But if you want to save even more, you might want to try making a turkey dinner from scratch.
