Do you need to repair bad credit fast? Find out how to improve a credit score rating today.

A good credit score rating will determine the likelihood of a credit application being successful. Not only that, the best deals are saved for those who have a strong repayment history. This is hardly surprising as lenders want to avoid customers who are more likely to default on an agreement.

Can Credit Score Ratings Be Improved Quickly?

Whilst everyone wants to repair bad credit fast, this is rarely possible in practice as the wheels of change move very slowly at credit reference agencies. A credit score rating can normally only be improved over a period of time through re-establishing credit worthiness.

Errors by Credit Reference Agencies

Request a personal credit report from all three credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion). It is needed from all three agencies because each one holds different data. Get any erroneous entries removed before applying for credit or the application will be turned down.

The correction process is rarely expedited particularly quickly. This is never more true than when sufficient supporting evidence isn't received. For this reason, consumers regularly seek the assistance of a professional attorney.

Always check a credit report a minimum of six months prior to applying for credit. The reason for this is that it provides time to get any issues corrected. Never leave this to the last minute. This change will improve a FICO credit score dramatically.

Improved Credit Score Ratings Through Reliable Payment

A higher FICO credit score can be achieved through reliably making repayments on existing mortgage or credit card agreement. Many consumers with minor indiscretions, such as missed and late payments, are able to improve their position substantially in just seven to eight months.

Those who no longer have an active agreement because they have filed for bankruptcy or are in a debt relief program could re-establish their credit by making repayments on a low credit score loans or bad credit unsecured credit cards. Successful repayments will be reported to credit reference agencies.

Even individuals who have declared personal bankruptcy can re-build their credit. However, filing under chapter 7 will show on a credit report for a period of 10 years (7 years for chapter 13). Making repayment on-time will improve FICO score ratings considerably in just a couple of years.

Credit score ratings can be improved by correcting data entry errors and making reliable repayment each month. It is not possible to repair bad credit fast. Neither is it 'legally' possible to buy a new credit report. Only time and reliability can remedy past credit indiscretions.
