Inexpensive Gift Wrapping Alternatives:
Charity gift wrapping services at the mall. Even if you have to pay a few bucks, you’re helping a good cause and saving yourself the headache of all that wrapping.
Save paper when you wrap. If you can’t find free gift wrapping anywhere nearby, at least save money when you do it yourself. The best way is to measure the gift beforehand. That way you won’t waste too much paper.
Help the environment by purchasing recycled paper. Make sure it says "recycled paper" on the label. And when you receive a gift, be sure the wrapping goes in your recycle bin, not the trash.
Save money by making your own wrapping paper. It’s a great way to spend time with the kids on a craft project, and folks who receive your gifts will appreciate your time and effort.
Buy heavily discounted wrapping paper ahead of time. You probably won’t find it this time of year, but if you think ahead you can save a lot before next Christmas. The week after the holiday, wrapping paper prices are slashed up to 50 percent and more. Take advantage of those great deals and stock up. So what if the cute wrapping is all gone? People don’t look at the paper for more than five seconds before they tear into the box, searching for that all important gift!
Don’t want to deal with boxes and paper at all? Consider giving gift cards!
