Candy and flowers for Valentine's Day used to be the norm. But even these traditional gifts will set you back at least $25 or more. With a little creativity and imagination, you can find a heart-warming present for less than $10 and your sweetheart will never guess how much you spent!

- See's Candy This famous chocolatier is famously under-priced. The See's web site has an entire page dedicated to candy under $10. From chocolate hearts to licorice medalions to sugar-free dark bars. There's something fore everyone with a sweet tooth here.
- Red Butterfly Pendant This beaded chocker sells for $3.49 and is made by FashionJeweleryForEveryone but is available on Amazon. This small piece is perfect for a young woman, or for an older woman with a young heart!
- A single rose Even if a dozen red roses isn't in the budget this year, a single red rose means just as much. If you can swing it, place the flower in a contemporary vase that is color- coordinated with your sweetheart's kitchen. She'll really appreciate your thoughtfulness. And before you buy that rose, comparison shop different florists and grocery stores. The price differences may vary greatly from shop to shop.
- Download her favorite songs to her ipod. This might be a little time-consuming but will certainly win you a lot of brownie points! Be sure to include songs that you heard together at significant times in your lives. Even if you just met six months ago, include the music that played at the restaurant on your first date, the songs you like to hear in the car, and her favorite tunes from high school.
- Offer to clean the house/do the laundry/babysit. Sometimes just giving your significant other time will garner the most appreciation. In these hectic times, everyone wants a little more of it.
