Finding the best credit card can be difficult, but finding the best card for reward miles might be easier than expected through Discover and Chase.

SkyMiles are a great way to be rewarded for credit card usage. However, all cards are not built the same. Some charge annual fees for the privilege of borrowing while others don't offer attractive interest rates.

When inquiring about credit cards, the Miles Discover card and the Chase Sapphire(SM) card hit the trifecta consumers are looking for. Both have no annual fee, 0% introductory APR, and reward miles that help get those with a heart for travel into an airplane at a price that would ease anyone's travel budget.

Discover Miles Card

Discover's Miles card has the following additional features:

  • Double miles on travel and restaurant purchases
  • One mile for every dollar spent on all other purchases
  • Flexible redemption options for travel, gift cards, or cash
  • Double miles through exclusive online shopping site

Complementary air travel can be had at the cost of 25,000 miles for coach seating and 40,000 for first class. These rates matched with the possibility of double miles makes it very possible for one to fly free every year within the continental United States.

As an added bonus, the Discover Miles card does not restrict its cardholders to air travel rewards, but allows them to receive cash and cash equivalent rewards, such as gift cards, which may be more valuable to some.

Chase Sapphire(SM) Card

The Discover card is a great product to have, but when it comes to pulling out all the stops for earning miles, the Chase Sapphire(SM) card is second to none. It's features include:

  • 10,000 bonus points after first purchase
  • Double miles on all airfare booked through Ultimate Rewards
  • No earning caps, point expiration, or blackout dates
  • Earn 10 miles for every dollar when shopping at select merchant through Ultimate Rewards Mall
  • 1 point for every dollar on all other purchases
  • 24/7 customer service (no voice recordings)
  • Premier travel protection benefits

If a cardholder's first purchase is a new car, a Monopoly, Jr. board game, or a pack of Juicy Fruit, she'll receive 10,000 miles in addition to what that purchase offers, bringing her 40% of the way toward complimentary air travel. In addition to this, she would get double miles for flying and 10 times the miles when shopping through the Rewards Mall!

For those that desire great customer service over rewards, there's no need for compromise. Customers can always reach a person to speak with, never a recorded voice, any time of day, any day of the week.

Getting miles rewards is a great way to use credit responsibly. For those that lack self-control when it comes to spending, neither of these cards would be wise to hold. The benefits would be marginal compared to those received by people who only charge what they could have paid for with cash, excepting those who have fallen on hard times and must rely on credit during the absence of income and savings. For all others, the Chase and Discover cards are second to none.
