January means winter white sales galore. This year, especially should bring exceptional savings if you know where to look.
They used to be called winter white sales; when stores would put their best sheets, towels and bedding on sale. But now those bargains usually include anything and everything for the home. And the color palette has changed too. Think every shade of the rainbow when it comes to furnishing your bedroom and bathroom.
Where to Find the Best Home and White Sales:
- JCPenney This traditional retailer may be lying a little low this year, with no big splashy ads or colorful slogans, but when it comes time for a sale, this store becomes the little engine that could. On their web site, Penney's boasts it has "America's biggest home and white sale." You'll save a whopping 30 to 60% off everything from furniture to window treatments, to housewares and luggage. One of the featured items is a 32 inch Newton wall clock that was originally $129 and is now on sale for $49.99. Rugs are also up to 50% off and include free shipping if you spend at least $69.
- Kmart This discount retailer is offering a big storage and organization sales event. A two tier expandable stacking shoe rack that was once $14.99 is now on sale for $11.99. Save $16 on an Essential Home Bakers Rack. And if you sign up for Kmart e-mails, you'll receive two $5 coupons.
- Macy's Get 10% off, plus free shipping if you purchase at least $150 worth of bed and bath products. Use the promo code WHITE to get the deal. The sale offers 20 to 60% off, both in stores and on line, plus an additional 25% off clearance items. The clearance merchandise includes close-outs like High Country "Bella" eight piece comforter set which was originally $200 to $250 is now on sale for $75. The Martha Stewart Collection "Coral Spray" quilt set that once retailed for between $170 and $300 is now reduced to between $48 and $75.
- Target Here, you'll find a home design event going on, featuring sales on home furnishings many people didn't even know Target carried. The selection is much better online than in the stores. You'd be surprised at how much comtemporary furniture Target has to offer. For instance, a three piece sectional sofa retails for $599 including shipping. A mango wood dining room table is priced at $149, and a unique woven round coffee table is on sale for $179.99. Also, be sure to pay attention to those romantic pillows and vases for possible Valentine's Day gifts!
