Department stores, sporting goods retailers and even lingerie shops are selling yoga clothes. And the mark downs are rock-bottom.

Even if you’re not a master of the sun salutation or the child’s pose, yoga enthusiasts and couch potatoes alike can find great prices on what’s referred to by retailers as yoga or active wear. Throw out your old sweats and buy some of these trendy pieces. The prices have never been better.

Where to Find the Best Deals on Yoga/Active Wear

  • Victoria’s Secret This lingerie mega-store has entered the active wear market. And they’re running a sale, "buy two for $50" while supplies last. You can mix and match tops and bottoms and they come in a variety of colors.
  • New York and Company The section of their web site devoted to active wear is called the "Comfort Zone" and here you’ll find prices on velour pants and tank tops starting at $5.99. A sequin hoodie in a choice of gray, black or tan was originally priced at $39.95 and is now 11.98.
  • Land’s End A short sleeve fitness T-shirt in a bunch different of colors runs $19.50. You can also find compression shorts starting at $29.95. The fabric is supposed to give leg muscles extra support, and is moisture wicking to keep you cool during those hot summer months. Land’s End recommends buying a size smaller than you normally would. But if it doesn’t fit, you can always return the merchandise to your closest Sears store.
  • Macy’s If you live near one of the 11 stores nationwide that are closing, you’ll find unbeatable deals on what’s left of their active wear department. Even the stores that are staying open are offering sale prices. Online, a Nike velour cowl neck pullover hoodie and velour pants are marked down to $27.50-$35. The original price was $55-$70. The site is offering 99 cent shipping on all clearance merchandise.
  • JC Penney You’ll find 40-70% off their active wear inventory. Warm up suits from St. John’s Bay start at $30. Free shipping is available on orders over $69. Enter the code SHBFSH at checkout.
  • Body Line Active Wear Each month they run a special, and this month it’s a basic yoga pant for $21.99 that was $58.99.

Remember, whatever you call it, active wear, yoga wear, fitness attire, it does the same thing: makes you feel comfortable. And if you don’t feel like working out, you can always sleep in these clothes. Just don’t ever pay full price! They are marked up enough to begin with, so you can afford to comparison shop and end up with a great deal.
