Ellipticals above $1,100
- Precor EFX 544 Treadmills Central offers a re-manufactured EFX 544 for $1925 plus tax and shipping. The regular price for a new model is $4,295. Precor is the cadillac of ellipticals. They offer durability, resistance, as well as manual and programmed courses to simulate a hill, valley, interval training and ramp changes. Remanufactured models are often a great deal. How do you know if you want to spend a lot or a little on your elliptical? Ask yourself these questions:
- How much time will I spend each week on the elliptical? If you’re planning to work out everyday for 40 minutes or more, get the more durable health-club quality machine. If you already go to a workout facility and this is just for days when you can’t make it to the gym, a lighter, less expensive model might work fine.
- Is space a problem? The heavier more rugged ellipticals take up a lot more space than you might realize. Get the dimensions and then measure your room. Some, like the Nordic Track, fold up easily so you can store it in a closet.
